On November 23rd Nils Persson, CEO of Swedish HealthCare, and Yuchi Kung, Project Coordinator at Swedish HealthCare, were invited for a visit to Shenzhen municipality in China.
They were greeted at Shenzhen City hall by Mr. Yang, vice head of the Administration department at Shenzhen municipality. Swedish HealthCare held a presentation about home care services in Sweden for Mr. Zhen, Head of the Administration Department and several division chiefs at the municipality.
After a joint lunch, Mr. Yang together with Swedish HealthCare made a visit to a public day care center and a private nursing home 3H, based on a concept from Hong Kong. The private nursing home offered day care and rehabilitation facilities. The day ended with a visit to another private home care agency.
For the Swedish HealthCare representatives it was interesting to learn more about the well-developed city of Shenzhen in the southern province of China, both regarding the growth of the domestic economy as well as the aging society. According to Mr. Yang, there is a lack of standard and criteria when it comes to informal elderly care services in China. Therefore the municipality with the help of Swedish HealthCare wants to learn more about Swedish know-how in Home care sector. The aim is – in cooperation with Swedish HealthCare – to start a business to offer high quality home care services in the urban area of Shenzhen.
